The Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled to make its final flight sometime around late 2021. There is much controversy in the aerospace community over whether or not the Space Shuttle was purposely sabotaged to force NASA to launch a cheaper and better manned spaceflight. The consensus seems to be that NASA needed to launch this mission in order to demonstrate the US that it is capable of operating without a Russian cosmonaut on board.

But what does this all mean for the world? Well, for starters, it means that we are going to have a lot more space junk on-board the space station after October, when the last Space Shuttle is scheduled to leave the assembly plant. This will mean a lot of accumulated trash will need to be transported to the storage facility, and then stored there for the next ten years or so. And that means that NASA has contracted with several different companies to pick up the accumulated trash and bring it back to the world. So this could potentially be an opportunity for a big government contractor to win some contracts for future space events. But what if that contractor doesn’t make the delivery on time?

Well, what if the contractor doesn’t make the delivery on time? Well, what if the contractor doesn’t make any delivery at all? Well, what if the company which is contracted to provide the equipment for the Space Shuttle launches isn’t any good? Well, what if the company which is providing the equipment for the Space Shuttle launches isn’t any good? Well, what if the world space week event doesn’t happen, and we’re all left without a reliable, safe way to protect ourselves from outer space?

Of course, there’s another potential problem with this whole thing, and that is if the governments of the world don’t participate in the international collaboration to reduce the space debris which currently occupies the orbital space environment. If they don’t, then we could be headed for major disaster. Indeed, I’d like to see the United States participate, along with China, Japan, Russia, and the EU, and perhaps some other major countries. There are a few issues here, but I believe that these problems can be solved, and yes, I believe that the private sector can participate in this as well. Perhaps, this is where we need a private industry partner for space science, and not an international collaboration?

Some folks have suggested that we should use the extreme Geomagnetic storms as an excuse to use the event space method, but why would we do that? Do we really need to use these types of events in order to prevent these potential disasters? Why not use the extreme events ei that occur within natural cycles to prevent such disasters from occurring? Well, because these natural events do have the capability to interfere with the satellite communications and electrical systems which we rely upon for human life, it makes sense to use the event space method to protect the satellites and the equipment which is on-orbit.

This is my view: The US should join with the rest of the world to put a stop to the abuse of power by rogue space-related entities which are intent on sending out threatening electromagnetic anomalies into space. If this is true, then we should join hands and stop giving these power-seeking entities any more power. The United States should establish its own space-based global organization, or we could join hands and form a multi-space agency similar to the NASA program. Please consider all this.
